While nobody would deny that Spain is an ideal holiday destination, and it's famous Mediterranean coastlines are bathed in sunshine for around 320 days a year, but Spanish weather is more diverse than you might think.
There are three main climates for mainland Spain
Mediterranean - providing hot, dry summers and mild, often wet winters. This climate provides excellent conditions for many types of crops.
Atlantic - ocean currents can provide a changeable environment, but the gulf stream which travels up from the sub tropics warms the western parts of Spain while often being extremely windy.
Inland - inland Spain has many mountainous regions causing a relatively extreme climate when compared to the coast, meaning hotter summers and colder winters.
