Rainfall decrease ...

In the past 30 years, the southern part of Spain has seen a 23% drop in precipitation, and rainfall is predicted to continue to decrease as global warming affects the Spanish climate.

These changes will have a massive impact on the Spanish landscape. There will be an overall, marked decrease in annual precipitation throughout the Spanish mainland and it is predicted that water supplies could fall by 22%. Rainfall in Spain

In general, rainfallĀ in Spain (north and south) will decrease during the summer months, except in the Canaries. The Southwestern region of Spain (Almeria, Murcia), which is already very dry (the only desert in Europe is in the barren and arid province of Almeria), is also likely to see rainfall drop even further during the Winter.

In contrast, the Winter and Autumn months in the Northeastern regions of Spain (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria) are likely to see an increase in rainfall, resulting in an even wetter Autumn and Winter than they have at the moment.
