1. Vallter 2000, Girona. This ski resort, in the Pyrenees of northern Spain is located 2,180m above sea level. The most easterly resort in Catalunya, Vallter is a great place to go if you are looking to ski in the morning and go to the beach in the afternoon. Vallter is on average the coldest town in Spain, with an average low of -1.4ºC in January. Summers remain cool too with an average of 11ºC in July.
2. Nuria, Girona. This family oriented ski resort is located close to the France/Spain border in the Pyrenees, 1967m above sea level. The only access to this resort is by funicular railway from Ribes de Freser, 10km south. The coldest month on average is January with an average recorded low of -0.9ºC. In the summer
temperatures rise to just 13.2ºC in August.
3. Sant Maurici, Lleida. A beautiful, rugged mountain region in the Pyrenees of Catalunya, the "Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park" consists of lakes, rivers and leafy forests. Located approximately 35km from Andorra and 20km from the border with France, the lowest average temperature over the past 5 years is -3.1ºC in January and -2.7ºC in February.

Located right next to the border with the province of Leon, 1525m above sea level, Leitariegos is a small ski resort with just 7 pistes, ideal for beginner skiers. Located approximately 130km to the east of Madrid and just north of the national park, Sierra de Gredos the coldest recorded month on average over the past 5 years is January (2.5ºC).
